Floral Design Competition
This year, the Boerma Instituut, Aalsmeer organises for the second time, in co-operation with the new industry exhibition IFTF, a challenging competition, to be held at the exhibition in the Expo Haarlemmermeer.

The competition will take place on Wednesday 2nd of November 2011, with the title 'Forever yours’. Of course "live" material, blooms and greenery must have the starring role, but can of course be combined with interesting accessories of all sorts...

Smithers-Oasis will provide a swinging heart (Oasis® Bioline® Mini Swing Heart),  It is compulsory to use and as such the heart form must remain part of your composition. This arrangement can serve for all kind of occasion: Love, funeral, wedding. In other words... "rise to the challenge, and show your creativity".
 
There are only twenty five places available for the competition.!
There are 3 prizes:
1st Prize is a 5 day Bridal work course at the Boerma Instituut to the value of 1000 euros’, the 2nd prize is a two days bronz art workshop with Mark van Kuppevelt. 3rd prize is still a ‘Surprise’. Of course every competitor will receive a certificate to prove participation. More information about granting of the prizes will follow.

This year on Wednesday and on Thurday until 13.00 hourse the visitors of the IFTF can also be judges if they like. Form for juding can be collected at. the stand of the Boerma Instituut.

The arrangements will be on display so everybody can enjoy the creations! People from at home and abroad can join the competition, so you do not need to be a (former) student of the Boerma Instituut!

The creations will be on display during the opening hours if the IFTF from 2 until 4  of November in the Expo Haarlemmermeer. Openinghourse: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday from 10.00 - 19.00 hours.
IMPORTANT:
ØThe shape of the heart needs to be visible
ØThe explanation of the arrangement needs to be on an A4 paper
ØThe arrangement needs to be on display. You need to take care of that system yourself.

Names of the participants (and their websites with links) will be named on the  Boerma Instituut website.

and finally...
Whilst participation in the competition is free of charge, it's not without obligation! If you submit written entry, we of course expect to see you with your composition, this way we avoid disappointment to others who might want to enter, and there will be no "empty places" on display.

" The date of the competition "Forever yours" is Wednesday 2nd November, 2011;
" Commencing: 09.45 hrs;
" Finish: 14.30 hrs, thereafter cleaning up time;

" Participants are required to present themselves at the Boerma stand at 09.30hrs,  you ll receive coffee, and any necessary information, plus the Oasis® Bioline® Mini Swing Heart, which you must use in your own inspirational way.
Competition Organisation, judging & prizes
"The competition organiser is Boerma Instituut;
"The Boerma Instituut reserves the right to change any of the rules regarding the organisation of the competition if required;
"Judging of the compositions will take place at the Expo Haarlemmermeer;
"Members of the jury are Petra van der Veen, Aad van Uffelen, Carel Schenk. The name of the Smithers-Oasis delegate will follow.
The marks will be as followed:

1. Design
2. Technique & durability
3. Creativity
4. Combination of colours
5. Choice of materials
6. Overall appearance

This year, there will also be a Public s Award, and visitors can obtain a jury form from our stand. The competition organiser will provide name cards and a participants number for the judging.

There are three prizes:
1st Prize 5 day Bridal work course at the Boerma Instituut to the value of 1000 euros , or a replacement course held by them to the same value ( to be agreed with the Boerma Instituut)
2nd & 3rd  Prizes are a surprise!
Every one will receive a certificate of participation from the Boerma Instituut.

Registration for the competition is not possible anymore!
Students of the Advanced Course in Dutch Floral Design will decorate a Renault megane estate at the IFTF.
