Highly recommended
Have a look at several floral show and exhibitions. The more you see, the better it is! Go for example to the Flower happening in Alden Biesen in Belgium or the Christmas Happening in Brugge in the Oud Sint -Johns hospital. Or in November the new International Floriculture Trade Fair in Vijfhuizen, near to Aalsmeer.
The intent of this professional course is to give a specific practical education in only 7 weeks. It is really possible, although it needs a lot of effort.
This means: Realy keep one's hand in practice!
During the lessons at the Boerma Instituut we teach you the techniques and the practical skills which are neccesary in the flower shop but next to that, you have to be a swift worker if you want it to be profitable.
Home work
That is why we give home work assignments and we expect you to actually make it at home (or boarding house). This specially applies for bridal work because that takes up a lot of time. At the start of the course, it takes the whole day to make bouquet but at the exam you will have to manage it within two hours.
In order to practise you do not need to purchase expensive materials, if needed one can even practice with matches, macaroni, materials from the garden or with cheap materials from the flower stand at the street corner.
Materials to practise at home are not included in the course fee.
By experience we know that participating of the professional course costs a lot of effort and money, as well as for you as for us. Practising at home is very useful, especially when you take it to school and it will be reviewed!
When we put our shoulders to the wheel together, you finish the course with good results. Please keep in mind that the teachers who are in front of the group will try to stimulate and guide you in every possible way they can, the final result is up to you. When you make the ultimate effort it will sertainly workout and it is almost impossible that the result is something else than possitive.

Preparatory training is not neccesary.
enthusiasm and devotion are the most important conditions.
